Dr Janssen has retired from practice as of July 2021. 

Dr Johan H A Janssen was born in the Netherlands and studied medicine at Maastricht, the first problem-oriented university in the Netherlands.

He studied cardiology under Professor Hein Wellens, specialising in electrophysiology and interventional cardiology. As an Associate Professor he worked at the Academic Hospital in Maastricht and Rotterdam. After an interesting time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia he came with his family to Perth, WA were he joined the team at Western Cardiology.

Dr Janssen runs weekly clinics in Kalgoorlie and telehealth appointments with existing Geraldton-area patients. He provides teaching for medical students in rural areas (Rural Medical School UWA and Notre Dame) as well as at SJOG Hospital Subiaco Perth. He is based at Western Cardiology in Joondalup but also consults and provides inpatient care at St John of God Hospital, Subiaco.
